As a MSP-IT business owner, you may not have too much time to engage in elaborate marketing campaigns, but keeping your brand fresh in the minds of your prospects is not something that you can ignore. This week, we discuss one effective way to keep your business’s name on top of your prospect’s minds–Day Zero Alerts.
What is a Day Zero Alert?
Day Zero Alerts are messages alerting recipients of any vulnerabilities so they can safeguard themselves against them. As a MSP/IT service provider, here are a few typical Day Zero Alerts that you can share with your prospects
- Information about any malware attacks
- Latest information on internet frauds and scams
- Patch releases for malwares that will help your recipients combat them effectively
- Information on any bugs, version redundancy, support withdrawal, etc
How to create a quality Day Zero Alert?
When you start looking on the internet for an alert to send to your leads, Google will swamp you with information. Make sure you pick the most relevant and recent ones to share with your prospects. Also ensure your Day Zero Message is short and to the point. Your recipients may not have the time to read through an entire article to figure out what it is all about. Here’s a quick structure of what an ideal Day Zero Alert should be like-
- Heading: Explain in one sentence what the Day Zero is about. For example: Microsoft withdraws support for XP or Malware WannaCry attacks computers across the US
- Subheading: Elaborate on the heading. Talk about what is the end result of the vulnerability that you are sharing. For example: If you are running Microsoft WindowsXP, you will not get any further OS updates or WannaCry Ransomware is typically being spread via an email attachment that holds your computer hostage once downloaded
- Body: Use the body to explain the vulnerability in 4-5 short sentences
- Source: Mention the source of your Day Zero and provide its URL. Anyone interested in learning more can visit the source
Like I said before, Day Zeroes are a great way to keep your brand fresh in your prospect’s minds, but that will happen only if you are consistent and timely. You cannot work magic with an odd Day Zero Alert here and there.
