When our market research and analysis team at Mindmatrix recently conducted a study to identify the biggest challenges faced by our target market–the MSPs, the results did not surprise us much. It was pretty much the same as what it was 5 years ago when we started the MSP Advantage Program, a leading MSP Marketing and Sales Enablement Program. Our recent survey told us that MSPs still struggle with Marketing. What has changed though, is the scope of it. Earlier, most MSPs cited lead generation as their #1 challenge. 5 years down the line, they seem to have newer areas of concern such as brand building, scaling up their business and social media marketing. Here’s what we discovered-
- 83% of MSP business owners don’t have a dedicated marketing resource
- MSPs spend, on an average, only 9% of their time on activities that help grow their business
- Only 13% have an active social media profile
- Lead generation still emerges as the #1 challenge
- Only 23% MSPs are able to actively pursue the majority of the leads that come in. These 23% usually have a MSP Sales team of 2 or more people
