3 reasons MSP marketing emails don’t work

Emails are the most common marketing medium out there with every other business engaging in email marketing campaigns these days. Even as a small MSP/IT business owner, I’m sure you would’ve tried out email campaigns at some point of time. You have perhaps even subscribed to an email marketing tool. What happened afterwards? Many of my clients complain that email campaigns don’t really get them the results they are looking for. If you fall into that bucket, here are 3 things that you are doing wrong…

Lack of consistency: Did you subscribe to that email marketing tool and just forget about it? Are your emails evenly spaced out or do you send emails every now and then when your lead inflow becomes kind of sluggish? Consistency is the key when it comes to email marketing success. A one-off email here and  there won’t take you places.

Fix it! Stay on top of the minds of your prospects. Use drip emails or lead nurturing campaigns to engage your leads throughout the sales cycle and be consistent in your email marketing.

You don’t know who you are writing to: When you don’t know the audience you are reaching out to, your messaging will most likely be weak and irrelevant.

Fix it! Invest in a tool that will provide insight into what stage of the sales cycle your audience are in and how receptive they are to you, you can modify your messaging to be more effective.

You are not personalizing: Are you throwing generic email content at your audience? In order for your email messages to strike a chord with your prospects, they need to be relevant to them.

Fix it! Make sure your email marketing tool lets you personalize your email messages.  Break the ice with your prospects by tailoring your email messages to better resonate with them and watch them engage with you more often.
